San Antonio College Awarded the 2021 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence

The $1million prize, given by the Aspen Institute, 认可在大学期间和毕业后为学生提供公平结果的卓越表现

The Aspen Prize, awarded every two years since 2011, recognizes outstanding institutions selected from a pool of more than 1,000 community colleges nationwide. With a singular focus on student success, 阿斯彭奖授予在教学和学习六个方面有杰出成就的机构, certificate and degree completion, transfer and bachelor’s attainment, workforce success, 有色人种学生和低收入家庭学生的公平结果, and leadership and culture.

As winner of the Aspen Prize, San Antonio College will receive $600,000. 阿斯彭还表彰了三所社区学院入围决赛:布劳沃德学院(佛罗里达州), San Jacinto College (Texas), and West Kentucky Community and Technical College (Kentucky). 阿马里洛学院(德克萨斯州)因快速进步而获得“新星奖”. Each will receive $100,000.

In November 2019, SAC被列入有资格获得2021年阿斯彭奖的150所社区大学名单. In addition to San Antonio College, two other institutions in the Alamo Colleges District, Northwest Vista College and Palo Alto College, were named as Top 150 Community Colleges.

The Aspen Prize is generously funded by ECMC Foundation, Joyce Foundation, The Kresge Foundation, and Siemens Foundation.
